It's real!

Things are getting very exciting at the moment. Last week I saw my cover for Blind-Date Marriage; this week my harback copies arrived. Real books! With my name on them! And words I wrote printed inside. I have to confess to having kissed a copy. How embarrassing is that?

I'm very excited, but nervous at the same time. I read a bit back and all I could see were clunky bits I wish I'd changed. Does this happen to anyone else? I'd be tempted to slip futher into writer's paranoia, but I've managed to remind myself that this book won an award. Even if all I see is clunkiness, others have read it and think it's good.

If I'm this bad now, what'll I be like when it finally hits the shelves?

Congratulations, Fiona!! You are not alone, I can assure you, as I felt just the same the first time I held my first hardback of my first M&B Medical in my hands just a few weeks ago! Amazing. And I still don't believe it is real!! Enjoy every moment of it.

Best wishes,
Mags

That's not embarrassing at all Fiona. I can only imagine what it must feel like, but the dream's vivid enough!

Enjoy the moment!

Fi! That pink copy looks FAB!
Kissed it? I hope you took it to bed with you last night :-)

Enjoy the ride, it's a great time.

How are you going to feel when it hits the shelves? I'll tell you. You'll be pinching yourself. And glowing with happiness from head to toe.

(You might be glowing for other reasons if your kids do what mine do - find the M&B shelf, check if one of mine is there, and tell everyone who passes, "My mum wrote that." *g*)

Best of all, that "ooh, that's MY book" feeling doesn't go away even when you get to #25.

Enjoy it.

So, you should get your hardbacks approx four months before your paperback release date, Donna. that doesn;t seem too far away does it?
